Prepare for the MCAT Exam

The MCAT Exam, officially called the “Medical College Admissions Test,” has just undergone some pretty major surgery. Instead of the MCAT exam being a lengthy 8 hour test and being a paper and pencil test, the MCAT exam is now computerized.

The MCAT Exam used to be offered only twice a year – once during April and once during August.

With the MCAT exam now computarized, the MCAT Exam is offered 22 times per year, which is a big improvement.

Time to get the MCAT exam results used to take 2 months with the paper and pencil test.  Now the MCAT exam results will be returned in one month.  The goal is to have the MCAT exam results finished in two weeks or maybe even one week.

The MCAT Exam is often called the “Rite of Passage” into medical school.  It must be taken if one would like to be accepted to medical school (there are rare exceptions to this rule).  The MCAT exam is scaled on a score from 0-45.  The average MCAT exam score for a student accepted to a M.D. Medical school is about a 30.
